FAQ

Yes, before starting the full rehabilitation program, you can request three trial sessions with the HAL robotic exoskeleton to better understand its operation.”

Yes, it is possible to limit the program to the HAL module, but this always requires initial assessment and the definition of a specific Individualized Rehabilitation Plan. The rehabilitation process, according to the EBRM (Evidence Based Rehabilitation Model), typically consists of four rehabilitative modules (HAL training, traditional physiotherapy and rehabilitation, neurofit, and neuropilates) which are differentiated and integrated for an intensive, person-centered approach.

EBRM stands for Evidence Based Rehabilitation Model and it consists of an initial assessment phase, also known as intake, which is a preventive series of functional tests, laboratory analyses, diagnostic investigations, and clinical evaluations aimed at preventing critical situations for the patient and calibrating the intensity and most effective combination of the proposed rehabilitative modules.

The EBRM intake, besides being a valuable source of data for setting the Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP), provides strong protection and guarantees for the patient; the active technology used allows us to test for the presence or absence of residual bio-electrical signals. In the latter case, 2WALK excludes the initiation of rehabilitative paths that are not based on clinical evidence regarding their appropriateness and opportunity.

There are specific contraindications to treatment that originate from the patient’s health conditions and the characteristics of the technology used. However, these can only be assessed by clinical experts before the start of treatment through tests, trials, and in-depth investigations.

Yes, we can provide dedicated financing tools through specialized financial operators; 2WALK will not benefit from this service, but the patient will have to recognize the interest and additional expenses to the financial institution.

This is determined through the exclusion of absolute or relative contraindications, assessed during the assessment/intake phase that takes place before starting the rehabilitation program.

Yes, HAL Single Joint can be used for upper limb treatment after evaluation and drafting of the Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP).

By filling out the form on the website with all the required information; you will be contacted promptly by the 2WALK staff who will provide you with all the information needed to set up the potential program.

In Italy, robotic rehabilitation services have been recognized by the National Health System through the nomenclature of services and tariffs; however, our Center has decided to keep its offerings within a private channel.

Many insurance companies in Italy and Europe reimburse outpatient rehabilitation services and are increasingly extending coverage to robotic rehabilitation. If the patient has an individual Health Policy, is enrolled in a category Health Fund, or has assistance coverage through a Professional Orders’ Assistance Fund, we will be pleased to assist them in verifying the coverage and supporting the expense reporting.

The total cost varies depending on the services provided both during the assessment/intake phase and the individual treatment. You will be provided with a detailed estimate for each module and type of service.

It is not possible to rent the HAL Lower Limb exoskeleton (for the lower limbs) for home use; however, following the training of a family member and a therapist, the HAL Lumbar Type exoskeleton can be provided for home use for therapeutic purposes to aid in the recovery/improvement of trunk control or for purposes related to injury prevention in manual load handling. The HAL Lumbar Type can also be used in places of living and work (by caregivers, handlers, warehouse workers, etc.) for Manual Handling of Loads (MHL).
