HAL is an innovative exoskeleton for rehabilitation.
It is a wearable device that promotes mobility through motors placed on the joints of the lower limbs, facilitating the user’s movements.
This is possible because the HAL exoskeleton can establish a dialogue with the patient’s nervous system, promoting neuroplasticity and the recovery of autonomy.
HAL is an active exoskeleton capable of interpreting bioelectrical signals (BES) detected through electrodes applied to the patient’s muscles. In this way, HAL can translate the user’s intent to perform certain movements, which are then facilitated by the exoskeleton, in a completely non-invasive manner.
HAL exoskeleton is indicated for the following conditions:
Contact us on WhatsApp. We can assess your physical condition together and determine if you can start the rehabilitation program with HAL. Schedule a video call.
The HAL® exoskeleton is integrated into an intensive rehabilitation program, where the combination of various rehabilitation approaches helps achieve the goals defined during the preliminary phase. Watch these videos to see the progress made after a few weeks of therapy.
In this example, you can see the patient at the beginning of her rehabilitation journey and after three months of therapy.
Depending on the degree and type of injury, it is possible to regain the ability to walk without aids, as shown in this video.
Only 17 therapy sessions with HAL were needed to help the patient stand up and become independent.
Even at a more advanced age, it is possible to improve thanks to the use of the HAL exoskeleton.
Our rehabilitation center is the only one in Italy and Europe that offers an intensive physical therapy program structured into four hours, divided as follows:
The patient wears the HAL exoskeleton and is guided by the physiotherapist to start training on a treadmill. HAL detects bioelectrical signals to assist the patient’s intentional movements.
The patient receives personalized treatment from an expert physiotherapist to improve motor functions and acquire adaptive strategies.
The patient follows a physical activity program aimed at enhancing aerobic performance, so the patient strengthens their muscles and improves limb flexibility.
The patient engages in an activity that integrates the traditional principles of Pilates with functional exercises adapted to the patient’s level of disability. This practice uses the classic Pilates reformers.
You can undergo the neuromotor rehabilitation program at:
Stradello San Girolamo, 6/A
43121 Parma (PR)
For intensive residential programs, 2WALK offers accommodation and support services for both the patient and their companion throughout the program.
We conduct a thorough evaluation of the patient’s clinical condition to determine if they are suitable for the HAL program. We don’t make promises we can’t keep. That’s why we conduct a careful assessment through a preliminary visit, a detailed questionnaire, and three trial sessions; only if the patient is deemed suitable for the treatment can the program be activated.
